Sergio G. Moreira, Jr,. M.D. is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology (ABU) with a fellowship in male reproductive medicine and surgery. The American Board of Urology is to assure the public that an individual has: (a) received appropriate training, and (b) has a level of urologic knowledge to practice safe and effective urology. Dr. Moreira completed his urology residency at the University of South Florida, Tampa and his fellowship in male infertility and reproductive medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. His main areas of interest are general urology, male infertility and microsurgery, male sexual dysfunction, minimally invasive therapy for prostatic hyperplasia, male and female voiding dysfunction, oncology, laparoscopy and robotic surgery.

In 2004, Dr. Moreira was awarded the prize “SLS Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Surgeon” by the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS). Dr. Moreira is also a national proctor for the DaVinci robotic surgery and a national and international proctor for Holmium laser surgery in urology. Dr. Moreira and his family relocated from the Tampa Bay area in Florida to East Texas three years ago where he started the East Texas UroCenter. He is a member of the American Urological Association, Texas Medical Association, American Society for Reproductive Medicine and Society for the Study of Male Reproduction , American Society of Andrology, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and Brazilian Urologic Society.

Dr. Moreira is affiliated with Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital and Nacogdoches Medical Center.
Dr. Moreira’s interests outside of urology include: martial arts, motorcycles, jogging, movies and spending time with his wife Samantha and their son Bernardo.




Richard “Sean” Omsberg, PA-C joined Sergio G. Moreira, Jr., MD and the East Texas UroCenter team in June of 2010. He graduated from University of Nebraska in 2002 with his Bachelors as a Physician Assistant and received his NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants). In 2003, he then earned his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.

Sean has served 22 years in the Military and is currently in the Colorado Army National Guard. In 2005, he was certified as an Aeromedical Physician Assistant (Flight Surgeon). He is responsible for ensuring medical readiness for soldiers in the Guard and provides continuous training to his medics to ensure they are competent and confident for all missions. He served from 2007-2008 in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sean is scheduled to return to active duty in July 2011 where he will serve in Afghanistan for 6 months.

Before joining Dr. Moreira and the East Texas UroCenter team, Sean previously worked as a Cardiovascular and Thoracic Physician Assistant.

He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Society of Flight Surgeons, and the Urological Association of Physician Assistants.

Sean relocated to Nacogdoches from Colorado Springs, CO with his family in December 2002. His interests include hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, watching movies and most important of all spending time with his family.
